In 1945, after returning from the war, Otto Johannes Müller founded MÜHLE, crafting the first shaving brushes and designing the iconic MÜHLE signet. Over the decades, the company has evolved, weathering challenges and triumphs, to become a renowned leader in the world of wet shaving.
In 1965, Hans-Jürgen Müller took over the growing business, which had expanded to 40 employees and was exporting products to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, Hans-Jürgen was forced to sell the company, and MÜHLE became a state-owned enterprise.
In 1987, the rebranded business only manufactured brushes for the state, and Hans-Jürgen Müller became a self-employed brush maker. But with the dawn of a new Europe in 1990, Hans-Jürgen regained the family business, trading as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, while retaining the iconic MÜHLE signet.
MÜHLE struggled to survive after reunification, but little by little, the company won new customers and rehired former employees. By 2006, the offering had expanded to a full range of wet shaving goods, and the MÜHLE brand emerged as a leader in the industry.
Today, MÜHLE razors, brushes, and accessories are used by shaving enthusiasts worldwide. Designed and manufactured in Germany, MÜHLE's shaving products are crafted by a skilled workforce, upholding the high standards and pioneering spirit that have defined the brand for over 75 years.
MÜHLE's shave care products consist primarily of natural, plant-based ingredients, such as Aloe Vera, Sandalwood, Sea Buckthorn, and Grapefruit & Mint. These carefully formulated blends nourish and protect the skin, offering a soothing sensory experience.
Wet shaving enthusiasts can choose from various razor types, including Gillette Mach3 and Fusion multi-blade cartridges, as well as the classic double-edge safety razor, which provides the closest possible shave and a plastic-free, eco-conscious option.
The centerpiece of the wet shaving ritual is the shaving brush, which MÜHLE has been manufacturing for decades. Customers can choose from the most moisture-absorbent natural badger hair brushes or the latest synthetic fiber options.
To ensure the longevity of their shaving tools, MÜHLE offers a range of stylish, chrome-plated shaving stands, allowing users to properly rinse and dry their razors and brushes after each use.
MÜHLE's commitment to sustainability is evident in their membership in the Environmental Alliance of Saxony and their decision to produce plastic-free products. The company's affinity with nature and dedication to quality are reflected in every item they create, whether a handcrafted unique piece or a serially produced good.
